Year in Numbers

In 2017-18 we built 177 new homes, a number that will start to increase over the coming months. We let 3,383 social homes, spent more than £20m on improvements to our existing homes and carried out almost 60,000 repairs.

Although our turnover fell compared to the previous year, we continue to make savings through better procurement, reducing the cost of empty homes and tackling other business costs.

We need to improve our repairs service and how we handle complaints. The move to an in-house repairs contractor, while delivering better value, led to a fall in repairs completed on time (we still complete 9 out of 10 on time). As a result, satisfaction in the service has fallen and there’s been a rise in complaints. We’re working to improve this as a matter of priority, together with better communication so you understand the service you can expect from us.
