THIS HAS BEEN A YEAR OF ONGOING ADJUSTMENT WITH OUR NEW STRUCTURES AND USE OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES BEDDING IN.
We have invested heavily in our systems and digital technology to ensure our offer to customers utilises the very best automation and self-serve options. This does not mean we have reduced our commitment to personal service, just the opposite as we continue to offer personal support and face to face services to customers who prefer or need that approach. Our staff are the backbone of our high quality service offer and their commitment to ensuring all customers are supported comes from the heart.
We are very proud that our work supports many vulnerable customers to live an independent and fulfilling life, and we believe passionately that every individual has the right to a decent home. We take our responsibility for campaigning for this right very seriously.
In years gone by we have averaged a new build programme of 200 homes a year. Last year we delivered just under 100 new homes, less than our desired number due to uncertainties in our operating market and government funding. However we have committed to increase this number once more to over 200 each year in the years ahead. We continue to invest in our communities and existing stock to ensure that our homes and communities are places where people feel safe, secure and proud to live.
Our Progress Futures programme of training and employment assists people to find new pathways in their life and build a positive future.
Our award-winning telecare and technology enabled care and support (TECS) services ensure people can live independently and with piece of mind that assistance is there should they need it.
All this makes for very impressive reading as we continue to deliver an essential housing service in our society.
