Foreword
At a time when there are enormous struggles in our lives, society, and the world at large, it is even more important we remain true to our social purpose.
As a housing organisation, we want to make a positive difference in the world, provide good quality housing for all, and ensure people are safe, secure, and supported in their homes.
Many of our tenants and customers take the brunt of the challenges in our society, and we aim to provide practical help to assist with those challenges. The needs of individuals vary enormously, and our six customer business streams enable us to recognise people who require a wide range of services from us.
We aim to be the very best we can be in providing these services and always aim to understand the requirements of our tenants and customers. We also consider ourselves a learning organisation, so if we get things wrong, we apologise and learn from these mistakes in order to continually improve.
We pride ourselves on being a not-for-profit housing provider, being a leading provider in affordable homes for rent, independent living accommodation for people over 55 and extra care accommodation.
We are proud to be one of the largest providers nationally of supported living homes for people with a learning disability and/or autism, acquired brain injury or enduring mental health conditions.
As a leader in telecare services, a provider of key worker accommodation, a small house builder, and a support agency for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, we can support a wide range of people across our society to live healthy lives.
Our annual report aims to share with you the personal stories of people we work for and with. It is their resilience and our dedicated colleagues that enables us to achieve so much; it gives us the strength to continue to champion our social purpose and challenge inequalities and stereotypes in our world.
We very much hope you enjoy the read.
